Aegix AIM — K-12 School Safety Platform

April 2026

1. Executive Summary

Aegix Global, LLC is committed to ensuring that Aegix AIM, our K-12 school safety platform, is accessible to all users, including students and staff with disabilities. This Accessibility Roadmap serves as our good faith plan under Colorado Exhibit G Item 21 of the SDPC 16-state Data Privacy Agreement (DPA), providing an alternative to full conformance certification under Items 19 and 20.

Our target standard for accessibility conformance is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This roadmap outlines our current accessibility status, known areas requiring remediation, our testing methodology, timelines for remediation, and our commitment to annual updates and continuous improvement.

Accessibility is a fundamental value at Aegix Global. We recognize that students and educators with disabilities deserve equal access to tools that support school safety. Our engineering, design, and quality assurance teams are actively engaged in identifying and addressing accessibility barriers across our web application and mobile applications (iOS and Android).

2. Current Accessibility Status

Aegix AIM is actively working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. Our platform consists of three primary components:

  • Web Application — Cloud-based dashboard and admin interface

  • iOS Mobile App — Native application with VoiceOver support

  • Android Mobile App — Native application with TalkBack support

Accessibility Review Timeline

A comprehensive accessibility review was initiated in Q2 2026 using automated scanning tools, manual testing protocols, and assistive technology evaluation. This foundational assessment enables us to establish a baseline and prioritize remediation efforts aligned with this roadmap.

Known Areas of Focus

The following areas have been identified as requiring accessibility enhancements. These focus areas are common in complex SaaS platforms and represent our current priority remediation efforts:

  • Keyboard Navigation — Ensuring all interactive elements are accessible via keyboard alone

  • Screen Reader Compatibility — Implementing proper ARIA labels and semantic HTML for assistive technology

  • Color Contrast Ratios — Meeting WCAG AA thresholds (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)

  • Alternative Text — Adding meaningful descriptions for images and icons

  • Form Labels and Error Messaging — Ensuring forms are properly labeled and validation messages are clear

  • Focus Management — Managing focus properly in dynamic content including modals, alerts, and notifications

  • Mobile App Accessibility — Optimizing VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) support

  • Video and Audio Captioning — Providing captions and transcripts for any multimedia content

3. Known Nonconformances and Remediation Plan

The following table identifies specific accessibility barriers, their associated WCAG criteria, current status, remediation timelines, responsible roles, and interim workarounds available to users.

4. Accessibility Testing Methodology

Our testing approach combines automated scanning, manual evaluation, and assistive technology testing to comprehensively assess accessibility across all platform components.

Testing Tools and Techniques

  • Automated Scanning — axe-core, Lighthouse, and WebAIM tools for baseline WCAG compliance

  • Manual Testing — Expert accessibility review of design patterns, workflow interactions, and edge cases

  • Assistive Technology Testing — Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS), keyboard navigation, voice control, and mobile accessibility (VoiceOver, TalkBack)

Testing Cadence and Scope

  • Continuous Integration — Accessibility testing integrated into the SDLC for all new features and updates

  • Quarterly Audits — Comprehensive accessibility reviews conducted quarterly across all platform components

  • Third-Party Evaluation — Independent VPAT assessment planned for H2 2026

  • User Testing — Inclusive testing with individuals with disabilities planned for 2027

5. Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) Status

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) version 2.5 is currently in progress. This document will provide detailed conformance information for all platform components.

VPAT Timeline and Coverage

  • Initial VPAT Release — Q3 2026 following completion of initial accessibility audit

  • Platform Coverage — Web (WCAG 2.1), Software, and Mobile platform modules

  • Annual Updates — Per 8 CCR 1501-11, VPAT will be updated annually to reflect remediation progress
